Rick was one of my roommates during my freshman year at Penn State (1968). After I graduated, we shared an apartment on the North Side of Pittsburgh. As we journey through life, we encounter individuals that have a significant impact on our lives. Rick was one of those individuals. He introduced me to my wife, Julie. For that, I'm eternally grateful. I'll always cherish the times we attended Penn State football games. Rick was a huge Penn State fan and a season ticket holder. For many years, we would select a game to attend and camp for the weekend at Greenwood Furnace State Park, south of State College. On one of our trips in October it snowed. I can vividly recall his smiling face as we sat huddled around the campfire. Penn State won. Life was good. WE ARE...

I'll start by explaining the photo I uploaded -- which was a picture from Beaver Stadium following the 2016 PSU - Ohio State game. That was perhaps one of the most exciting games in Penn State history (and Penn State won of course) -- and I got to experience it with Rich. It was through PSU football that Rich and I made a connection and became friends 25 years ago. And although we really only saw each other during football season, we still formed a strong bond that went well beyond a common sporting interest. I know I'm really going to miss him! I offer my most sincere sympathy to the family. God Bless!
