William L. Allen Sr., 82, of Hampstead, MD passed away peacefully on June 5, 2019, surrounded by numerous family and friends, at the Dove House Hospice in Westminster, MD. Born November 10, 1936 in Baltimore, MD, he was the son of the late James and Helen (Bell) Allen.

Will retired from Baltimore Gas & Electric in 1993. He enjoyed going to the casino and playing the slots, scratch-offs, shopping, and getting together with family. His family fondly remembers his unique sense of humor and how easily he made friends with everyone. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Will is preceded in death by both his parents; former wife, Shirley Jones; brothers Charles "Buck" Allen, and Nelson Allen.

He is survived by his son, William Allen Jr. and wife Kathy, and three daughters: Cheryl Harold and husband Chuck, Debbie Ortega and husband Jose, and Melissa Ballweg; eight grandchildren: Ashley Wolford, Madeline Allen, Steven Carrier, Jason Carrier, Katie Harold, Charles Cowley Jr., Samuel Cowley, and Sherry Brannon; nine great-grandchildren: Elena Carrier, Chase Farley, Kash Livers, Emma Livers, Kyrstin Brannon, Craig Brannon, Michael Brannon, Hayzel Cowley, and Charles Cowley III; four brothers: Herb Allen, Richard Allen, Walt Brooks, and Bobby Allen; five sisters: Delores Fincham, Louise Adelsberger, Marion Frock, Janet Merson, and Shirley Barnes; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held on Friday, June 7, 2019, from 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm & 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm at Eline Funeral Home, Hampstead, MD. A Service will be held on Saturday, June 8, 2019, at 2:30 pm at the Funeral Home with Pastor Andy Vineberg officiating.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the American Cancer Society.
