I was shocked to hear that Willard had passed away unexpectedly and know he will be missed by all who loved him. He drove from Maryland to Pensacola in 2015 just to see family. My dad, Jack Jernigan, is Willard’s cousin, but I think sometimes they felt more like brothers because they were raised under the same roof when my dad’s mom died and he and his sisters moved in with Willard’s mom and their Granny. Willard came again for a visit in January 209, I think mainly because my mom was not doing well. It was really good to see him and spend time with him again and he seemed to be doing well. We enjoyed his visit and while he was here we went for seafood and had a feast and also visited other relatives. I never dreamed that would be the last time I would see him on this earth, but know he has a special place in heaven where we will all see him again. Sadly, my mom, Anne Jernigan, passed away on May 6th and I know he was first in line to greet her. May you find comfort in the memories you made with him and in knowing he is now again with his Mom, Wade, Granny and others he so loved.
